To prepare your application you need to develop or update your business systems and documentation and complete the application forms. Completing an application form takes time and effort. Follow the steps below to successfully complete your application.

Steps for preparing your application as explained below

Steps for preparing your application

Step

Description

1. Choose the calculation method and activities you wish to be accredited for

Identify the calculation method and activities you would like included in your accreditation.

2. Understand the requirements

Read the PDRS Method Guide to understand the requirements and standards that your business processes and systems must meet.

3. Set up or review your business processes and systems

Demonstrate you will have business processes and systems for managing your proposed activity to create a valid peak reduction certificate (PRC). For example, you will need to have:

  • a record keeping system – either your own system or a proprietary system developed by a software provider

  • processes to engage, manage and train the people involved in your activity

  • processes to engage with customers and provide them with relevant information.

Our application forms and guidance documents (listed below) describe the requirements so you can set up your business processes and systems.

4. Prepare your business documents

The application form will set out the documents you need to prepare, including:

  • a delivery process flow chart for your recognised peak activity (RPA)

  • a register of representatives and training material (refer to the PDRS Method Guide)

  • a Nomination form

  • other supporting documents requested in your application form.

You may also need to prepare and obtain documentation about your business, such as:

  • a current Company Extract

  • letters of authority

  • evidence of insurance.

5. Complete the application form/s

You need to complete the application form, which has 2 parts:

  1. Application for accreditation Form Part A – ACPs covers the general details of your proposed activity, business model, systems and organisation.

There are 2 versions of this form – for new applicants not already an ACP under either the PDRS or Energy Savings Scheme (ESS), and for current ACPs applying for another accreditation (including existing ESS ACPs applying for a PDRS accreditation)

  1. Application Form Part B – ACPs covers the details specific to the calculation method for your proposed activity. Refer to the PDRS Method Guide for specific requirements.

The information you provide in the application form must be sufficiently detailed and consistent with your supporting documentation.

6. Check your documents are accurate and complete

Before submitting your application in TESSA, check you have completed all required sections of the application form/s and that all supporting documents are complete and accurate. This is an opportunity to demonstrate the effectiveness of your quality assurance processes.

When you have completed your application form/s and prepared all supporting documents, you can upload these in TESSA. See our Submitting your application in TESSA page for more information, including a video detailing the application process in TESSA.
