The peak demand reduction target is the target for creating peak demand reduction capacity during the peak demand reduction period defined as:
- 2:30–8:30 pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST)
- on each day of the compliance period, 1 November to 31 March.
The target for each year is set out in clause 60 of the Electricity Supply (General) Regulation 2014. It starts at 0.5% in 2022–23 and increases gradually to 10% in 2029–30.
