We host information sessions online to help stakeholders understand and participate in the schemes.

Information sessions on how the Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) works have been presented in the past (see table below). Please contact us to request one of these ESS Information Sessions. Note, a session will be provided subject to demand.

Information sessions for the PDRS will also be held. These sessions will be published on our Upcoming events page and posted on our Past events page once they have been held.

PURPOSE

Introduction to ESS

This session provides an overview of the ESS, how it operates, and explains who participates. It covers how certificates are created and valued and gives a basic overview of the Registry and Portal functions.

The Accreditation Application Process

This session assists potential applicants to understand application and participation requirements. It aims to help with application preparation and steps through the application forms. It also covers the costs involved and obligations placed on ACPs.

The Commercial Lighting Energy Savings Formula (Commercial Lighting) method

This session assists stakeholders to understand Commercial Lighting method and requirements, including what is required of an application under this method. Topics include eligible activities and products, evidence requirements, certificate calculation and creation, minimum installer requirements, emerging lighting technologies and annual operating hours. It also includes case studies and a demonstration of the Commercial Lighting Calculation Tool.

The Project Impact Assessment with Measurement & Verification (PIAM&V) method

This session assists stakeholders to understand PIAM&V method and requirements. Topics include eligible activities and products, evidence requirements, examples, certificate calculation and creation.

The Home Energy Efficiency Retrofits (HEER) Method and Power Factor Correction (PFC) methods

This session assists stakeholders to understand HEER method and PFC method requirements. Topics include eligible activities and products, evidence requirements, case studies, certificate calculation and creation under each method.

Accredited Certificate Providers (ACP)

This session provides stakeholders with an overview of obligations and compliance requirements placed on ACPs, including how we monitor and manage compliance. The session also covers how to prepare for an audit and reviews record keeping systems, evidence and ESS requirements.

The Audit Process

This session provides an overview of audit requirements and procedures. It is intended only for members of the ESS Audit Services Panel (the Panel) or those intending to apply to be a member of the applicants to the Panel. It outlines how to prepare for an audit of an ACP, typical audit procedures, tips on report preparation and submission, and provides an overview of common audit issues.
